just a little update, i haven’t written in one of these things in a long time but i was thinking, maybe i should.
anyway, yeah, i finished a shirt for Alice in Chains and Ursa Major today. starting to get a little frustrated with my line qualities.
these pieces aren’t bad, but i feel that if i could get a thinner line, maybe i’d be happier with them.
the only thing iiiissss, i don’t want to go to quill and ink, just cause i know i’ll mess a ton of stuff up. i’ve heard of these things called Rapidographs, i’ve never used them, but word is it’s super thin lines.

i just need it for hatching. but i’ve yet to find them…i’ll figure something out.

i think i’m going to start painting again.
ooooooooooooo!

my roomate Heath is leaving for 3 months

he’s going on tour with the band The Unseen. He’s going to be doing their merch table as well as some sound work. if any of you go out to an unseen or a tiger army show, stop by their merch table and see a large bandana wearing guy with a weird hook nose and large bags under his eyes, say hi for me. we had hoped to try and get some of his clothing line ideas onto shirts before the tour, or even the pulling teeth shirt i’m working on, but it just didnt happen.
this means i’m going to be having a lot of time alone, getting work done and trying to get some projects off the ground. exciting times! i wish him luck, it’s not going to be fun cramming into the back of a uhaul truck for 3 months, but hey, at least it’s not summer yet.

Apparently I watch every movie ever. every day.

28 January 2008 | 0:40 | movies | No Comments

so i saw Rambo friday (incredibly awesome), The Nines (starring the man  that is Ryan Reynolds) on Saturday, and then i just finished Charlie Wilsons War with a womanizing Tom Hanks. Such a good movie. it was great to see the smooth talking congressman sparking the fall of the soviet empire via covert funds to Afghanistan. anyone remember how good The Ladykillers was?

my buddy Tim!

27 January 2008 | 1:17 | friends | No Comments

is probably one of the best potters i’ve ever known.
check out his stuff over at muddybirdpottery.com/

i’m constantly blown away by his work and love seeing how
each one of his pieces completely blows the last one away. Much of his imagery has to do with nature and have a rudimentary design to them that ebbs and flows with the pottery.
get at him for some commission pieces, i’ve seen him working on several of them and he just outdoes himself each time.
bravo tim, bravo.

shirt for my friend stephanie

i did this for a birthday/christmas present, shirt and a print. i liked the statue pouring water in the back. woooo!
the quote on it is from Norman Cousins, political journalists and essayist.
“Death is not the greatest loss in life,  the greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.”
I always liked it.

New Shirt for the Band Moria

20 December 2007 | 0:58 | shirts | No Comments

Check them out on their myspace at www.myspace.com/moria.
they have some sweet new songs up.
they came to me with the concept and i drew up this sketch.

Moria Sketch

and it turned into this after some color and design choices.
i decided that the legs looked a little forced and i would rather have the demon
being built by the insides rather than  existing independently.

check out their page to see when it’ll be available.

Ron Paul?

18 December 2007 | 23:05 | politics | No Comments

this close to the primaries, i still don’t know who to vote for, the more i look at him the more i’m liking Ron Paul. not, sure. check out the interview on Glenn Beck’s show.  unlike most of the artists i know, i for one, am not a die hard socialist.

4 new works

11 November 2007 | 21:59 | Uncategorized | No Comments

i’m leaving for a week to work on my book! a week without internet or a cell phone. a solid week of solid art. WOOO!

been super busy, here’s a few things i’ve done.

3 November 2007 | 16:46 | galleries | No Comments

2 Galleries are showing my work currently, both conveniently located in Portsmouth, NH.
Ello in downtown Portsmouth, on the way to the park…. i’m 90% sure that’s state street. and Tattoo Junkies on RTE 1 across the street from Taco Bell.  Ello was a group halloween show and is up until Nov 6th i believe. They’ve been putting on some really great shows and every opening that’s been there has been a blast.

the Tattoo Junkies show is trying to showcase some talent on their walls in a rather upscale tattoo studio. good people and a great place.

go check both out and buy some stuff. either mine or their’s. both is good.
i’m leaving in a few minutes to go to the boston comic con early tomorrow. technically it’s called the boston comic book spectacular. Norm Beryfogle will be there. rich is getting some stuff signed by him.

Split my time in between the Tattoo Junkies gallery opening and my uncle’s funeral today. We were all reallly close with him, but he was 85 and it was his time. Great guy, he had an american flag drapped over his casket and was buried with his favorite mesh sun hat. but during his service i came up with something that will set the tone for the book i’m going to be making in a few weeks here.

rich just got here, off to the worst city on earth, boston.

went and witnessed the grand opening of the Ello Gallery in Portsmouth, NH tonight. had some solid work as well as some from a dear friend, Matt Serven. drop by and buy some work and support some great dudes and a new place willing to take a chance with some art. Also stopped by Nahcotta and Three Graces Galleries, also in Portsmouth. it’s a joint effort for tiny work so there’s a ton of stuff from a ton of different artists.

updated the sketchbook a little

14 September 2007 | 10:05 | Sections Updated | No Comments

added a few sketches.
mainly because i haven’t been able to nail down anything i’ve been painting for myself lately.
think it’s just the nervous excitement of the Book Tour and everything that’s going into it.
think this is my favorite sketch that’s up.

watched “the Condemned” tonight.
movie was ok. exactly what you’d expect except a lot less blood and barely any cool fights.
ah well, what are you gonna do? if anyone wants a movie to go see, go see 3:10 to Yuma. Ben Foster gets better and better in every movie i see him in. also Russel Crowe and Christian Bale excel in both of their roles. One of the best movies i’ve seen this year. and yes, i saw transformers.
